Somethin’ Fishy?…

Betty’s Tenets™ have long included nutrition as a key factor in boosting and sustaining cognition, connections, and quality of life.  For decades (perhaps centuries), healers and scientists have touted the benefits of oily fish in reducing the risk of many things, including cognitive function.

Scientists in Japan have recently completed research that again confirms the positive effects of n-3 fatty acids – such as are found in salmon and tuna – on lab animals modeling Alzheimer’s.  AND they show that n-3 fatty acids can have situational effects (our term) – i.e., the animals responded positively during treatment period, especially in maze exercises.  Read more on this study from scientific publisher RSC Publishing.

Betty’s Tip o’the Day™ – for years: Nourish your brain with oily fish several times a week! It CAN help boost cognition – at every age, in every stage.  Especially, oily fish CAN boost the part of the brain that will help Mom or Dad KEEP BALANCE … and, thereby, not fall and break a bone or worse.
