Embrace Your Spirit
Hang in there. Help is THISSS close….
Feeling unheard, misunderstood, even not believed? Not anymore.
Betty’s Love embraces your whole brain – mind, body, and spirit.
Our Embrace Meetings ensure that you’re heard, understood, and believed.
We know you are. We’re on the journey, too. We get it.
So we know you can’t always get to an Embrace Meeting or to our Heartquarters for a Betty’s Break in perhaps the coolest suite to which you ever could Escape-with-Love. (Imagine bathing in a bell tower!)
So, please let us suggest a few ways in which you can embrace yourself and Care-with-Love for your mind, body, and Spirit today….
- Schedule yourself for a Betty’s Break! Enjoy a bubble bath in your home or in our bell tower!
- Make time each day to pray or meditate. Be … and know that you are Loved.
- Participate in a regular church or prayer service – whatever your beliefs. A brain in late-stages Alzheimer’s can perform only two functions: Love and Prayer. Praying in a community can make someone in even late-stages Alzheimer’s feel good about herself (by remembering when to sit and stand and how to say The Lord’s Prayer) and feel part of a community.
- Adopt a pet from a shelter – animals are proved in research to boost and sustain the spirits of those who battle Alzheimer’s and their caregivers.
- Walk 10,000 steps each day – preferably outside (weather permitting). Nature and sunlight will do wonders for Mom’s and her caregiver’s soul! Call someone in Betty’s Love and you’ll never walk alone!
- Practice simple Yoga breathing or stretching exercises, proven to slow heart rates, alleviate anxiety, and increase health and peace of mind.
- Volunteer in your Community with Dad – to ensure you both feel engaged and purposeful.
- Volunteer in your Church – to remember you remain a vibrant, necessary part of your Family, Church, and Community.
- Access on-line Spiritual Support – and make time to take care of you. Interspiritual support might include:
Quaker Spiritual practices and beliefs
The Center for Spirituality at Old St. Patrick’s Church, Chicago
The Jewish Federations of North America
Interspirit Prayers and Meditations we use in Betty’s Love.
How do you Embrace Your Spirit? Please tell us!
Prayers and meditation are Tenets of Betty’s Love. Please be sure to make time today to Care-with-Love for yourself. Let Betty’s Love help you start Embracing your family’s Spirits today.
Last but never least: And remember, Betty’s Love and Help (with a capital ‘H’ – take a look at that photo again) truly are thisss close. Amen, indeed!
Important: Betty’s Love Alzheimer’s Charities is based in Love and universal spirituality and welcomes and embraces all faiths, all religions, and all spiritual practices. We neither promote these prayers nor promote their authors. They have been used by and/or suggested to Betty’s Love for the purpose of supporting ourselves and one another along our journeys through Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, cognitive impairments, and all Life challenges.
Please support Betty’s Vision of Joy . Thank you!
